On Pain and Suffering

Pain originated from the heart and that's why it hurts. There is a reason why 'heart' and 'hurt' sounds so similar. The answer must be there too.....in the heart!

On Pain and Suffering
Let it hurt then let it go

It's true. That the cure for the pain is in the pain.

Pain originated from the heart and that's why it hurts.

There is a reason why 'heart' and 'hurt' sounds so similar.

The answer must be there too.....in the heart!

What do you think?

Rumi wrote something like this

Actually, if we research a little it goes like this:

Rumi's Masnavi (Book 3, line 109):

"Dard ast ke dard rā mi-shenāsad."
"It is pain that heals pain."

Or another variation:

"Only the wound knows the cure for the wound."
Pain originated from the heart and that's why it hurts.

Takeaway

The reader must be asking:

"But what is the solution"
"How to get rid of the pain"

Even the writer is asking the same questions since ages.

But now I have come to the conclusion that I can't get rid of pain or suffering.

But I can change my 'attitude' towards it, my response.

My attitude these days

If the pain is inflicted by existence itself then accept it gracefully, unconditionally. But if the pain is inflicted by someone intentionally then two of the following things could happen:

  1. You get buried down in the dark hole which will make 'them' happy. (but I personally believe that your pain should not become a source of someone's pleasure).
  2. You get buried under the ground as a seed and grow one day as a fragrant flower or a fruit or a tree

The choice is yours.
