Why unity among majorities is not tenable.
To bring about a change in the society, be it of any kind, some people will have to convince others to support the cause, because only some people can not do it alone, and also to disrupt the harmony.
When the ‘quality’ of unity in ‘troublemakers’ exceeds than that in ‘common man’ then the former overpowers even if they are a minority because ‘quantity’ doesn’t matter.
Why minorities usually unite and revolt?
- The minority unites because some of them were suppressed earlier.
- They have seen such horrible times that death or dying for a cause even if it causes bloodshed & violence can’t be much worse.
On the other hand, the ‘common man’ has lived a relatively stable & peaceful life. Dying or even getting injured for a cause is hard to imagine and much less actionable.
